WHAT IS EMBERS?

EMBERS – Our program for young people aged 16-18, or 18 – 25.  A six week journey that blends ancestral survival and bushcraft skills, connective practices and storytelling to offer participants a fresh perspective.

  • Suitable for Young people aged 16 – 18 or adults 18 – 25.

  • Group provision

  • 5 training sessions

  • One amazing experience

The Embers program aims to bridge the gap for modern young adults and their roots by connecting them with nature and their cultural heritage.

During the first five weeks, participants will spend time in the Cornish woodland, where they’ll learn survival skills and gain insights into the ways that their ancestors navigated the world.  This process is designed to instil increased confidence, a positive self-image, and a sense of well-being.

In the sixth week, the program culminates with an overnight immersion in the woods.  Here participants will put their newfound skills to the test, learning to stay warm and fed whilst also grounding themselves in a deeper sense-of-place.

By combining wilderness exploration and self discovery, the Embers program seeks to empower young adults with a stronger understanding of their unique nature and purpose in the context of the present time.  It’s an opportunity for participants to unlock some doors, rewild themselves and embrace a meaningful and purposeful future.

EMBERS Survival course. Program for 16-18 year olds. Reconnect and rewild.

As the hearth dwindles the bank of embers remain, each one filled with untold potential.  If left unattended they can die away, or if fanned by the wild winds they can set the world ablaze.  Embers can be nurtured and provided with just the right amount of oxygen and the right environment, they can be carried across rivers and mountain ranges and they can start a new hearth, a new community and pass on great knowledge and wisdom.
