Parents! – When was the last time you had brunch? Have a well deserved break this Easter and leave the kids with us for a few hours. We will turn them into survival ninjas and we’ll even feed them!

Kids! – Give those thumbs a break, get out into the woods and Go Wild.

This is a 5 hour survival skills session for youngsters suggested age 10+ with lunch included.

We will be focusing on primitive weaponry, wilderness cookery and there will be some games and exploration too!

Join us on a transformative journey into the heart of wilderness survival with Survive and Revive’s Wild Skills Workshop. This immersive experience, goes beyond the ordinary, offering participants a chance to connect with nature while mastering essential survival skills.

This workshop isn’t just about learning skills; it’s a holistic journey where the wilderness becomes your classroom. Amidst the rustling leaves and the crackling of the fire, discover a sense of self-reliance and resilience that only nature can provide.

CUTTING TOOL SAFETY & GREEN WOODWORK

Safety is paramount in wilderness survival, and this is where we will start an in-depth practical session on cutting tool safety and techniques.  Engage in hands-on activities to hone your skills, all while emphasizing the importance of responsible tool usage.  You’ll need to use all you learn throughout the rest of the day and you’ll make some handy things to help you along the way also.

 

GAME PREPARATION – PIGEON

This one is all about pigeon and we will explore ethical and sustainable practices in handling and processing game.  You’ll get the chance to participate in a demonstration and practice session on field dressing the animal, ensuring you leave with a practical understanding of turning it into nourishing sustenance.

 

FOOD

Revel in the satisfaction of sharing healthy and sustainable lunch cooked over an open flame, fostering a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.  

 

PRIMITIVE WEAPONCRAFT

After lunch we will embark on a forage for materials and utilise our woodworking skills to make some primitive weaponry.  We will guide you through the intricacies of sourcing materials, sustainable harvesting and utilise our woodworking skills to craft some wonderful weapons.  To finish the day we will put them to the test and help you harness your inner hunter and the art of using projectiles.

The aim of this course is to provide a comprehensive introduction to the world of survival, to teach participants a wide range of skills and provide a fantastic wilderness experience.

Do you enjoy spending time in nature or feel that you don’t get enough of it? Want a new and unique experience?  Have an interest in the forgotten skills of our ancestors?  Or maybe you want to bond with your teens or even just get rid of your partner or spouse for a couple of days?  If any of these ring true then this course is for you!

We’ll get you settled into the woodland with hot drinks and issue you with some kit and equipment for your stay.  Before setting up camp we’ll make sure you know how everything works and help you find a suitable location to bed down for the night, then you’ll prepare your first meal by the fire.

We can’t guarantee the weather (it’s Cornwall after all and we know that there’s no such thing as bad weather, only weather inappropriate clothing!) but we assure you that you’ll learn a heap of useful stuff and have a memorable experience.

This course is suitable for anyone aged 14 and over, Under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Please note – This course includes the preparation of animals for food. If this element is not for you please let us know, you’re welcome to participate in this course and sit this element out.

 Our Home Ed series gives young people the opportunity to learn valuable survival and bushcrafting skills.

Pupils will learn the basics of survival understanding how best to prioritise and provide for themselves and others.  They will becoming proficient with a variety of tools and each week will undertake personal crafting projects that will aid them to live more comfortably in the wilderness.

Our sessions are designed to be educationial and engaging, blending practical skills development with play and exploration too.

Youngsters will learn a huge amount throughout the course and have many opportunities to put their new found skills into practice but crucially they will have a better understanding of their environment and the ecosystem that they are part of.

There will be the option of participants putting their skills to the test and taking part in a 24 hour survival challenge early in 2024.
